A stylish and modern 2 bedroom (X 2 double bed X 2 single beds), 2 bathroom (2 walk in showers) recently refurbished (2012) apartment on the very highly regarded western branch of the Lake, convenient for both local sightseeing and longer excursions and with on site facilities that include an area for private sunbathing, a shared swimming pool and large communal garden. Above all, the apartment enjoys a spacious and contemporary feel not to mention the spectacularly harmonious views, combining natural and human elements that make this area possibly the most beautiful place on earth.

Accommodation description:

Spacious living area with seating with a comfortable L shaped sofa, and a TV including UK Freesat HD plus Blu-Ray/Dvd player.
Interior dining area with seating.
Private terrace with adjustable sunshades and alfresco dining plus a BBQ.
Use of shared (unheated) swimming pool and large communal gardens, with stunning background of Lake views.
Three bedrooms, one with double bed and wonderful Lake view; the other with twin beds on the entry level plus a third bedroom acessed downstairs via spriral staircases. The spacious seating area as well as bathroom with shower & wc ( the staircase not suitable for use by children or the elderly or infirm.)
Large state of the art kitchen, with cooker, fridge freezer. dishwasher and toaster.
Washing machine.
Two immaculate bathrooms each with shower and WC.
Linen and towels provided.
Inclusive free internet and wifi.
Microwave, kettle, iron and hairdryer.
Lift access and secure parking for two vehicles if required (car advised but may not essential, as the nearest ferry point is only ten minutes down from the home).

Convenient for major western branch attractions of Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta, the mid lake towns of Menaggio, Bellagio and Varenna, the regional capital, Como, and excursions to Milan and St Moritz.
A plaque outside a villa in Mezzegra marks the spot where Mussolini was executed after being captured in Dongo.
The ten-kilometre ‘greenway’ walking route passes through Mezzegra and can be followed in either direction.

Important notes on accommodation

Lift and twenty-one steps to enter, plus twelve more steps inside, may make the property unsuitable for the elderly, infirm, wheelchairs or young children.
25% deposit payable by bank transfer, balance to be paid twelve weeks prior to arrival.
350 Euros damage bond payable on arrival, refunded on departure.
Cleaning 140 euros per stay
Booking fee 20 euros per stay
Changeover day flexible.
No smoking.
No pets allowed.
All waste to be removed on departure for recycling.

Loved the view , it was amazing. Everything was very beautiful and comfortable. The house was clean. Julie the house manager was very helpful and provided us the best stay. Would highly recommend this villa

We had a great stay here. Julie was very welcoming and settled us in really well. She was super helpful with local tips and recommendations. Location is great – you can easily drive around this side of the lake, as well as being just a 10 minute (hilly!) walk to the lake side and the ferry terminal to Bellagio and other spots on the lake. Great value, amazing view and lovely outdoor terrace. Highly recommend!

Elegant and comfortable

This is a very elegant and comfortable property in one of mid-lake villages around Como Lake. It is somewhat isolated, above the lake, with spectacular uninterrupted views, but very close to the local boat jetty (7-10 minutes of slow downhill walk and 10-15 minutes of only at moments strenuous uphill return walk), and perfect if you want to explore the lake, but also go further, to Milan or Lugano. The property is well equipped, with a spacious living room, quite big dining space and large and well organised kitchen that has everything you may need for some serious cooking. Two bedrooms on the upper section of the apartment are reasonably large with lots of storage space and a reasonably big bathroom. Another bedroom is in the basement, very spacious, with lots of storage space and large bathroom, with light coming from a skylight under the main terrace. The terrace is very large, enough for fining table for six, well equipped barbecue area and a separate space with two comfortable loungers. The host”s were great! I should mention they went out of there way to take photos and maps links and make a seperate journey for me to leave keys to save me money on a midnight check in. This is the first time they have done this as they are not permitted by the residence committee to leave keys to avoid disturbing neighbours. They also booked restaurant for my family, and made the trip really special. I would refer anyone to stay here – its AMAZING with 5 star HOSTS!

We chose this place to celebrate the New year with our family. Before arriving I was in contact with Barrie and Lori, who were super fast in communication, as well as gave me all the required info for the arrival. Upon arrival we met Julie. She was very-very nice and helpful in terms of providing tips on the local sightseeing, restaurants, places of interest. The place was just perfect. It is located on the hill, which is much better, because here we had a beautiful view over the lake Como, surrounded with the mountains and the nearest market was only about 2-3 minutes away by car. The house was exactly as described in the photos, very convenient and well-equipped. It was a very good experience to spend the New year here. Thanks and regards from our whole family.
