Location

The apartment, only three minutes’ drive away from a ferry point and the lakeside road, is in Colonno, a small village located on an extremely appealing and interesting stretch of the western branch. Convenient local attractions include the museum villas Balbianello and Carlotta: the lively village of Argegno, about two kilometres away, with its little beach and cable car ride, the historic old centre of Como and the mid-lake towns of Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna – centres for adventure sports, shopping and sightseeing. Colonno is also one end of a signposted 10 kilometre walk – the Greenway – which can be broken down into smaller sections. Further afield, sophisticated Milan, St Moritz (by train) and historic Bergamo can all be reached on day trips. In addition, for fans of watersports; sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and a variety of other water-based activities are available all around the Lake, with the highest concentration at the northern end.
