Argegno

Argegno is a small fishing village with access to all parts of Lake Como via ferry or road.

The village has everything you could need from a home made bakery Jamie Oliver would be proud of to an authentic Galeteria serving freshly made ice cream, beach lido to soak up the sun as well as some excellent wine bars and cafes. Argegno also boasts the perfect retreat 12 months of the year for two reasons. The area offers an authentic lakeside experience as not only does the village sit on the edge of the lake with breathtaking lake views but moreover is home to a working village which means you are more likely to rub shoulders with locals in the fish shop or one of the characteristic wine bars as other tourists throughout the year and doesn’t suffer from the winter close down associated with some of the lake side villages.

Secondly as the village is perched beneath the Val d’Intelvi you are within easy reach of the Lanzo ski slopes for winter ski-ing.

There are some superb restaurants such as La Piazetta for upmarket dining and Le Corte for good value regional cooking. The cable car to Piagra is well worth a trip.
